Search Intensifies for Missing Former High Jump Star Jacques Freitag
Former world high jump champion Jacques Freitag, who once held the African record, has gone missing since June 12, as revealed by his sister, Chrissie Lewis. Freitag, turning 42 a day prior, was last seen in Booysens, Pretoria West. Lewis has appealed on social media for help, providing her contact for any leads. Despite his competitive success, Freitag has battled drug addiction and was known to be at times homeless in Pretoria.
